Innovative violinist Jon Rose is a remarkable musician, radio maker and noise enthusiast.

In 2012 he was recognised for his contribution to Australian music and awarded the prestigious Don Banks lifetime achievement prize.

He’s widely known for his ‘Great Fences’ project which saw him amplify metal fencing in the outback and then bow it like a giant violin.

While he was working on that project he noticed many abandoned cars.

For the Sydney Festival he’s transplanted one of these wrecks from White Cliffs to Sydney’s inner west.

And naturally, he’s decided to ‘play’ it, with help from two other musicians.
